PCI Compliance

What is PCI compliance?

PCI (Payment card industry) Security Compliance has become a hot topic in the credit card industry due to increasing fraud. PCI compliance addresses the retailer or club's internal security setup and practices with the purpose of mitigating payment security risks. The intention is to protect sensitive credit card information that is being stored electronically.

At Northfield, we have already implemented a process that is PCI compliant. We do not store credit card information and we cannot see your credit card information as it is encrypted. That is why when your card expires, you must provide us with a new number/the previous number and the new expiry date.

If businesses ignore PCI security compliance they are opening themselves up to potential lawsuits, insurance claims, credit card issuer fines & account cancellations and Government fines.

For more detailed information on PCI Security Compliance please visit the PCI Security Standards Website at www.pcisecuritystandards.org.
